About

Our Story

Kgotso's Pride began with a single length of shweshwe and a belief that African cloth belongs anywhere beauty is taken seriously. Founded in South Africa and named for kgotso — peace — the house makes lifestyle pieces that carry heritage print into modern homes and wardrobes. What started at a family table is now a small studio of makers, but the intention has never changed: to let the fabric tell the story.

Our Mission

We exist to place South African craft alongside the world's great design houses without apology and without dilution. Every piece is designed to be lived with and handed on — an heirloom in the making rather than a season's trend. We would rather make one considered object than ten forgettable ones.

Sustainability

Small runs, natural fibres, and as little waste as we can manage. Offcuts become cosmetic bags and cushions; linen and cotton are chosen for how they age, not how cheaply they sell. Because our pieces are made to last, the most sustainable thing we can offer is something you will never want to throw away.

Handmade in South Africa

Cut, stitched and finished by hand in South Africa. Slight variations between pieces are not flaws but fingerprints — evidence of a person, not a machine. When you buy from Kgotso's Pride, you support local makers and a living tradition of print and craft.
